IS Research Frameworks and Paradigms

چکیده
The foundations of research in Information Systems can be studied at least from the viewpoint of frameworks and paradigms. Information Systems (IS) researchers have argued for and against having a research framework in the IS field. Several descriptive and normative IS research frameworks have been suggested. Many IS researchers have been engaging into the debate concerning the core of the IS field. Within this debate different conceptions of IS research paradigms have emerged. Research of IS research frameworks and paradigms is historical in nature and aims to clarify IS as a research field.

Both component frameworks and domain-specific languages aim to promote reuse and enhance product-line software development, but they approach the problem from different viewpoints. This paper provides motivation and hypothesis for comparison between the two paradigms. As a result we note some initial observations of the paradigms and present research questions for an empirical study.
